Autogenic training (also known as concentrative self-relaxation) is a relaxation technique established worldwide. It was developed by the German (Berlin) psychiatrist Johannes Schulz in the 1920s.
This program helps you train and improve your own body perception. Suggestive techniques are used to relax your muscular system and to connect with it faster and more intensely. By being aware, and, thus, by your own suggestive (self-influencing) powers you yourself can induce physical and mental relaxation.
Autogenic training is used pre-emptively for retaining good health and as a supporting relaxation technique in psychotherapeutic treatment:
blood flow disorders, gastro-intestinal diseases, sleep disturbances, softening and soothing of pain, depression, cardiovascular diseases (hypertonia, tinnitus, coronary heart diseases), asthma, anxiety.
